About

Hi, I’m Hayley.  I am a confident and trustworthy choice and I will do everything I say I will do.
I’m a colourful, quirky and charismatic human, who likes to look at the world through rose coloured glasses. This allows me to bring a modern, fresh and slightly alternative view to things.

I love, books, movies and music so have been developing an archive of alternative wedding quotes. I am interested in weaving Te Reo and kaupapa Māori into what I do, be it as simple as incorporating a greeting or karakia or something more elaborate like a kapa haka group or waiata.

Big and elaborate or a more intimate wedding, no worries, I have an eye for detail and love creating and crafting. I am sincere and empathetic and just want couples to have the best day of their lives as they start of the rest of their lives together.

I can officiate weddings and civil unions and I am a passionate advocate of equity and diversity.

I’m based in Christchurch and will work with couples looking to celebrate at venues across Canterbury.

My Passion

I’ve been thinking about becoming a marriage celebrant for the last few years while the time has only just become right to do this as I was taking time to grow my babies.  The choice of mahi came about after working with young people in a youth development and alternative education context.  In both instances the key to making changes and supporting these people was developing a relationship with them.

When I reflect on what it was about my own wedding ceremony that made it  so special, I think about the relationship that Jamie and I developed with Katie, our celebrant.  Over the course of a few meetings, we managed to unpack the key parts of our relationship as part of the process of developing our wedding vows.  I aim to support you to do the same.  Listening to you to help being the key parts of your relationship to bare in the ceremony.

Location

I’m based in Christchurch and will celebrate with you anywhere in the wider Canterbury region.  With this in mind, if there is a specific location you want to hold your celebration and I’m the celebrant for you, contact me and we can talk about it.
